MainMan-21
The first MainMan® data management system was put into use in the late 1970’s. Since the advent of personal computing, three major revisions have taken place. Today, the collective experience of over 20 years in computerized maintenance management systems has been captured in MainMan-21™. After a two year process of evaluation and development, TiM forged a partnership with Four Rivers Software of Pittsburgh PA. Their “TMS” web based product formed the engine of the latest generation of TiM’s “MainMan” support systems. Run on industry standard Hewlett-Packard and Dell servers, utilizing Microsoft’s SQL-2000® database, and protected by the latest Cisco firewalls, MainMan-21™ is a state-of-the-art information system. TiM’s partnership with Four Rivers has created a development environment in which TiM both contributes to new releases of TMS, and is licensed to wrap exclusive TiM features around the core product. TiM’s Information Technology Department has implemented many features to automate work order processing, protect data integrity, and automatically generate actionable notices to assure service quality.
As a result, MainMan-21™ is the most advanced information processing system in the biomedical industry today. TiM has gone beyond placing a computer in each major customer. Instead, TiM provides work stations, laptops, and personal digital assistants (PDAs) to each of its professionals, based on their individually profiled needs for portability, content access, and speed of entry – all linked via the Internet to TiM’s state-of-the-art server farm in Marlborough MA, with direct connection to the Internet backbone. Information maintained on TiM’s servers is always fully updated, fully secure, and fully backed up.
MainMan-21™ maintains the customer’s entire medical equipment inventory regardless of who maintains the equipment. It provides a superior management tool for budget preparation and tracking and projecting replacement needs. MainMan-21™ is easily auditable for accuracy and meets JCAHO standards for the Environment of Care.
The complete MainMan-21™ system includes status reports, trend analysis charts and graphs designed to give a crystal clear view of what is taking place, while TiM managers suggest and implement pro-active improvements. The system is under continuing development, bringing customer and staff suggestions from ideas to reality through rapid application development techniques.
While MainMan-21™ is an exclusive data application, unlike some other vendors, TiM is committed to an open architecture approach in data systems. MainMan-21™ information can be interfaced to a number of standard personal computer applications, including Microsoft Excel®, Microsoft Access®, and Adobe Acrobat®.
